Insanely Simple VDI Technology

Cloud Desktops is a cloud-first VDI solution that enables you to deploy enterprise class VDI in a day! The operational components of VDI are all in the cloud, so you can focus on where to deploy your virtual desktops. You can choose to deploy desktops using your on-premises infrastructure, or you can deploy it in Microsoft Azure. Or you can do both.

VDI 1.0 is operationally complex and slow to deploy

The VDI 1.0 workload broke the legacy data center.

A legacy data center (servers, storage, and networks) was optimized for server workloads – tens to hundreds of VMs with 80% reads. VDI workload can easily have thousands of VMs with 80% writes to disk.

To unbreak the data center, VDI 1.0 solutions like Citrix XenDesktop and VMware Horizon were built to work around the problems created by desktop workloads. VDI 1.0 introduced a complex mash of brokers, layers of new niche technologies, databases, portals, servers, load balancing, and licenses. The sheer number of components required months of sizing hardware, installing, testing, deploying, and patching. It required constant oversight by a trained squad of VDI specialists relying on a patchwork of expensive tools hoping to maintain uptime and deliver performance for VDI.

In other words: VDI 1.0 is complex.
