We’re thrilled to announce the General Availability of Workspot on Amazon WorkSpaces Core—the first Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution on AWS that supports all VDI use cases while remaining compliant with Microsoft 365 licensing.
Our partnership with AWS began nearly two years ago with a joint solution focused on persistent desktops and flat-rate AWS infrastructure pricing. Since then, the VDI landscape has shifted dramatically, as major vendors restructured their on-premises strategies. In response, customers began searching for cloud alternatives that could support their full range of legacy VDI use cases—including persistent and non-persistent desktops, and virtualized applications—while continuing to use their existing tools, processes, and cost models.
A year ago, Workspot and the Amazon WorkSpaces team set out to address these needs. The result: Workspot on Amazon WorkSpaces Core—a modern, flexible, and enterprise-ready platform built on top of WorkSpaces Core Managed Instances, a new service where WorkSpaces manages EC2 infrastructure directly within the customer’s AWS account.
