Workspot Joins F5’s Technology Alliance Program to Quickly and Securely Deliver Business Apps on Mobile Devices

Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013

Workspot, a mobile virtualization company, today announced that it has joined F5 Networks’ Technology Alliance Program (TAP). Through its partnership with F5, Workspot will broaden its reach and enable companies to deliver business apps securely and directly to employees’ mobile devices. The Workspot mobile client and control panel can be seamlessly integrated with the F5® BIG-IP® Access Policy Manager® (APM®) so that secure remote access can be transparently provided to end users. Workspot is one of F5’s first partners to embed the F5 Mobile AppTunnels SDK into an iOS application available in the Apple App Store.

“Workspot is focused on providing mobile virtualization solutions that help promote productivity,” said Amitabh Sinha, co-founder and CEO for Workspot. “We give companies an easy and secure way to empower their employees with access to business applications and content. Our alliance with F5 gives us the opportunity to jointly deliver an optimized user experience. At the same time, we can now offer application, document, and network usage along with performance insights from individual devices. What’s more, our customers don’t need to invest in additional hardware or make significant modifications to their existing VPN system. In addition, we look forward to participating in F5’s Agility conference in San Francisco, July 30–August 1, to give F5 customers and partners a chance to see the joint solution in action.”

Businesses are facing a unique challenge in managing and securing corporate data on mobile devices. While users are demanding mobile access to applications that sit behind the firewall, organizations need to protect against data loss, security threats and compromised endpoints. Workspot’s end-user app provides a fully immersive mobile environment on mobile devices with one-click access to business applications and data. Key benefits of this integration include:

  • A secure workspace for business applications and documents
  • Transparent F5 BIG-IP APM integration
  • A true company-wide BYOD experience, without compromising security

Workspot provides a modern workspace using mobile virtualization technology on employees’ personal smartphones and tablets without locking down the entire device or requiring numerous VPN credentials. Workspot Control is a SaaS offering that gets companies up and running in minutes using existing security and authentication infrastructure. With no need for new appliances in the data center, companies can get started with little or no cost. Workspot leverages big data techniques to convert massive quantities of end point session data records into greater visibility, security, and application performance for IT.

“With F5 and Workspot, enterprise customers can support BYOD and mobile initiatives with confidence,” said Phil de la Motte, Director of Business Development at F5 Networks. “Through our own offerings and dynamic partnerships with leaders in enterprise mobility, we aim to provide a BYOD experience that keeps mobile applications optimized and available for users, without compromising security.”
