Infographic: Telecommuting, BYOD flourishing in US workplace

Despite some reports to the contrary, it would appear that telecommuting and BYOD are flourishing in the U.S. enterprise, according to an infographic prepared by Workspot, a Workspace-as-a-Service startup.

A full 84 percent of Americans work remotely from home more than once a month. In addition, nearly one-quarter of Americans telecommute weekly, and more than 40 percent of companies have adopted some form of telecommuting policies.

On the BYOD front, a whopping 90 percent of Americans use their personal smartphone for work, and close to two-thirds of companies say that providing more mobility support for employees is a top priority.

One third of millennial employees, who currently make up 32 percent of the U.S. workforce, use three or more devices at work. By 2030, millennials are forecast to make up 75 percent of the U.S. workforce.

Workspot, which has an obvious interest in highlighting the growth of telecommuting and BYOD, collected the data for the infographic from various sources.
